Can the PS3 handle RSS feeds?

Hi all.

I'm here in Europe and as you probably know, we are left out by Sony and
have to wait for the PS3 to arrive in March 2007 (or even later).

Of course, I've seen numerous reviews, written on websites or even as
videos in podcasts. The PS3 obviously can play MP3, AAC and MP4 movies
like the PSP can. Great feature in my opinion.

One thing I really like about the PSP is the buit-in podcatcher, i.e. it
can handle RSS feeds and download podcast episodes without the need of
iTunes or any other software. I wonder if the PS3 has this capability as
well but haven't seen any website mention this yet. Anyone can say
something about this?

And then, how is the quality of MP4 videos when watched on a big screen?
On the PSP they look pretty good.

Thanks and a happy new year to you all.

Happy New Year to you too.

As of right now the PS3 doesn't do RSS. However, I'm sure if you've got a
page like the personalized Google homepage, you could just do it from the
web. But its not available like it is on the PSP (yet).

Martin,

The MP4 videos for PSP do not look too good when enlarged on the PS3.
You can watch them in their original size to retain the vid quality but
they are very small. But they do play without having to convert them.

I don't know about RSS feeds or podcasts on the PS3. I have yet to get
into this on the PC even. I just don't get the need for it...
